Class 2C

What a fantastic day we had in Chester Zoo. We saw amazing animals we also enjoyed yummy lolly ices. A great day had by all.
Our theme for World Book Day was Mr. Men and Little Miss books.   We started the day by reading Mr. Happy and the Wizard.  After reading this book we decided to write Mr. Men and Little Miss spells.  Later on we played Mr. Men board games, baked Mr. Men and Little Miss cakes and even made a character jigsaw using the ipads.

Aspirations Week

During Aspirations Week 2C were lucky enough to meet a vet and a nurse. The children found out some very interesting facts about each job.

They finished the week by dressing up as vets, nurses, policemen, dancers, footballers and lots more. Take a look at the photographs!

On  Thursday  Year 2 had a fun filled day!  It started with a visit to Father Christmas and his grotto.   Then we had a delicious Christmas lunch.  Later on at the party we all danced, played games and had party food.   We all enjoyed it.  Have a look at the wonderful smiles on the children's faces!

A happy and peaceful Christmas to everyone.

Children in 2C are junior chefs!   With help from our school cook the children found out about different ingredients, mixed the ingredients and prepared the cake mixture for the oven.  The children even used pumpkins that had been grown in our edible garden.  The result – delicious and perfectly baked cakes.  Well done 2C.

During our collective worship the children talked about things that tie people together such as love, trust and friendship. The children came up with lots of words that describe a good friend.  The discussion moved on to the tie of love and friendship with God.   At the end of the session each child tied a knot in a piece of ribbon.  As the children added the ribbon to the bowl they shared an attribute that they thought a good friend would have.

As part of our geography curriculum the children are finding out about Africa. On Wednesday they made African dance masks and learnt an African dance.   Did you know that the masks are worn on different occasions?   Interestingly, each colour on the mask represents something different?   The children know lots about this so please ask them to share their knowledge with you.

Our class were gardeners today!  In the photographs you can see us planting garlic and onions in the edible garden.   Now we will need to water and weed them to help them grow.  Soon our school cook will have lots of fresh onions and garlic to use in our healthy lunches.
