Class 3L

In year 3 we have been going swimming. This week we talked about being safe around water and survival skills. To do this we had to wear our pajamas so we could see what it feels like wearing clothes in water! We had great fun but most importantly we have learned lots of new water survival skills.
3L have been doing Military school on a Monday afternoon. We have had so much fun along with learning lots of new skills!
Now that we have our edible garden, we need to make sure we look after it! We love spending time outdoors!
3L have been learning about the Greeks and today we learned about different styles of pottery and the patterns used in ancient Greece. We then had a go at designing our own!
Class 3L Remember...
Today we were using our maths skills to solve lots of problems, we worked very hard and really enjoyed it!

Finally, we decided to see how we can hatch our egg. We knew we had to place the egg in water to help it hatch. After 2 days, our baby dinosaur is out! After lots of research, we found out that he is a Triceratops! We have decided to call him Tricey :)

In history we have been learning about the Stone Age and today we made our own Stone Age stew! We used 250g of blueberries, 250g of raspberries,  250g of strawberries, 250g of  blackberries, 6tbsp of natural honey and some cornflakes to add some crunch! We all had a try (Some of us didn't like it but some of us wanted a second portion)! We all worked together to make it and talked about were people in the stone age would've found these foods and how they would have cooked it! We loved this lesson!

We have been studying reports as part of our English topic. Today we were able to go to our school library to explore fiction and non-fictions books, comparing them and identifying the different features.
Today we looked at the different parts of a volcano! Miss Leslie and Miss Barker helped us to do a science experiment! We used vinegar, baking power, red food colouring and washing up liquid to make our own volcano erupt!
We have been learning about different rocks in science. During this lesson we became palaeontologists. We used cookies to represent the rock and the chocolate chips represented the fossil. Carefully, we scraped around the chocolate chips trying not to damage them. This gave us an insight to how careful palaeontologists have to be!
