2015 - 2016
4L enjoyed making pizzas with our school cook Mrs May.
Class 4L have started to attend D&T lessons at De La Salle. Our first lesson was practising cutting wood with a saw and we also learnt how to use a wood vice! We loved our first lesson and had lots of fun - we can't wait to design and make our own game over the next couple of weeks!
In school, during our History lessons, we have been studying the Romans, why they were so powerful and what we learnt from them. We had to then do our own research at home about the Romans and choose a topic to do a project on. We presented it in different ways: power point presentation, models, dressing up, display boards and folders of information. We have all worked very hard!
In Class 4L we have been looking at rounding to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000 in maths. We went to the main hall and had lots of different activities to help us learn how to round up or down. We worked in teams to complete the different challenges!
When learning about sound in Science, we used our amazing Wow! Room. We worked in groups to listen to different types of songs to see if we could identify whether the music was classical, pop, rock, opera or jazz. We also discussed what we liked or disliked about the different types of music, giving a reason for our opinion such as the instruments used and how they made us feel.
Year 4 2014 - 2015
Congratulations to Jolie and Jessie on winning Star of the Week! As always, Miss Hamilton found it very hard to find just two stars in the class. This week, children were awarded prizes for their excellent effort in Maths and English.
