Class RG

The children have been very busy playing snakes and ladders this week. They have been taking turns and sharing .
This week in reception we have been learning to tell the time. The children have been trying very hard to read the o'clock time. Well done girls and boys great work .
This week we have been learning about capacity. The children had to use the correct mathematical vocabulary to describe the bottles.
The children went into the edible playground to look at a the herbs and plants growing. The children enjoyed smelling the herbs.
The children enjoyed eating their hot cross buns in the Forest .
 
We had lots of fun playing games in the Forest .

We have had a busy few days getting ready to celebrate Easter. The children have made fantastic Easter cards. Today we made Easter nest by melting chocolate and adding cornflakes. The children really wanted to eat the chocolate. I wonder if the Easter bunny will visit them tomorrow? Have a lovely Easter from Miss Riley and Mrs GIllin
The children had a lovely time during Red Nose Day. We talked about raising money for charity. The children all dressed up and they looked fantastic .

 
On Wednesday the children in RG had a lovely time in the edible playground. We went outside in the lovely sunshine . The children helped to weed the raised beds. They found lots of worms and even decided to give them names.
On Thursday it was world maths day. The children had lots of opportunities to practice their maths skills. We played lots of different maths games. We had lots of fun. 
The children in RG enjoyed tasting pancakes. They enjoyed earring them with sugar and lemon. 
This week has been a very exciting week in Reception. After three long weeks the eggs have hatched and out popped 5 hens and 5 cockerels. The children have enjoyed feeding and playing with the chicks. The chicks will return to acorn farm and we plan to go and visit them in the summer .
 
On Wednesday some of the children went to the library. The children the opportunity to sit with their friends to read a book.
Jo Sayers from Mersey Forest came into school to plant bulbs and seeds with Reception. The children had a lovely time and enjoyed being outdoors getting muddy. We are looking forward to watching them grow.
What a busy day we have had . The children enjoyed going to the grotto to meet Father Christmas. We then  had our Christmas lunch in the hall together. In the afternoon we had a fantastic party in class. We played pass the parcel and musical statues. All the children looked fantastic in their party clothes .
The children in reception went into the edible playground and picked their own salad .
We have been tasting lots of vegetables this week. We tasted carrots, celery and cucumber. The children's favourite food was cucumber.
We had a lovely time in the Edible playground. The children enjoyed picking winter salad and tasting it. Some children took some of the salad home.
This week the children in RG have been making patterns . They used two colours to create their pattern.
The children in RG had a lovely time during the story telling workshop. They listened to stories and made lots of resources . They had a lovely time with their parents.
The children in RG have been working very hard this week . We have been ordering numbers to ten. The children used numicon to help them . They showed great team work as they worked together to solve the problem.
We have been talking about bonfire night and the children said they enjoyed looking at the colours in the sky. We used bread sticks and chocolate to make some edible sparklers. We melted the chocolate and the children dipped the breadsticks into the sprinklers . The children enjoyed tasting the chocolate.
The children went outside to look at the pumpkins. They enjoyed touching and smelling them. We tried to pick the pumpkins up. They were very heavy !
This week Year 6 buddies  came to play in reception. The children had a lovely time listening to stories and making teddy bear collages .
The children in RG had a lovely time taking their bears on an adventure. They looked for lots of interesting places to take them .
