On Friday 11th November our school commemorated with a two minutes silence.
We made poppy wreaths and during our special assembly we laid these at the cross. Three soldiers were also part of our assembly and they laid poppies at the cross too.
Some children asked the soldiers some fantastic questions:
What inspired you to join the army?
What are your medals for?
Have you known a soldier who had been awarded the Victoria Cross?
The soldiers were really impressed with the children’s behaviour and the respect they showed - especially during the two minutes silence.
The wreaths that the children created, then became part of the parish celebration on Sunday in St. Teresa’s Church.
In Year 3 we planted some sunflower seeds.
At the end of the term we were allowed to take our plants home.
I got picked up at the end of the day by my Mum. I was so scared if I dropped it in the road, but I kept tight hold of it, slowly I walked to my house and planted it in my back garden.
I watered it through the summer holidays, It grew BIGGER than me!

The Junior Lord Mayor
January is the month where Lucy Hannon 6MB has her turn of being Junior Lord Mayor of Liverpool. During this month she will attend many events, at some she will have the honour of opening new buildings and activities. Some of the events she will attend and participate in are:
Civic Service At St Nicholas, Opened the library in the City Centre, Jewish Ceremony to celebrate the Holocaust, Services at St George's Hall.
Aspirations Week
We have been doing lots of lovely things in our nursery since the new year.
For aspirations we had lots of visitors including the fire fighter, florist dispenser, hairdresser, and nurse. We asked lots of questions to find out about their job. We learnt how to make a flower arrangement. We all had a cut and blow in the hairdressers, We set up a surgery, police station and fire station.
In 2R we sent off balloons for Aspirations week and we had a reply from Anne-Marie , Buster and Tilly (the dogs).
During aspirations week 2C enjoyed meeting a Vet, Pilot and a Dentist. Our visitors talked about their jobs and they each had a funny story to share with us!
On Friday we all enjoyed dressing up. Mrs. Carroll and Mrs. Dolan thought we all looked fantastic.
Year 2 were involved in poster designing as part of their PSHE lessons during Our Anti -bullying week. We discussed the important role of our school buddies in ensuring all children are happy at play times.
Here are the winning posters...
Year 2 Anti-Bullying Posters
During Anti-Week Bullying Week, Year 4 have thought about the Wonderful Ways of our school that we try to follow everday:
I will do my best to encourage others and be a good friend!
I will be a good listener to my friends and teachers!
I will be truthful and kind and always show good manners!
I will walk around school sensibly and play nicely on the yard!
I will work hard at my lessons in class and be a good learner!
I will try and be the best person I can be!
We have designed posters to show how we can put them into practise
We are very proud that Lucy Hannon from 6MB has been chosen as Junior Lord Mayor of Liverpool. Lucy gave a speech at the town hall, and from there was chosen for this special role. Well done Lucy!
Lucy wrote this about her experience of becoming Junior Lord Mayor.
On Wednesday 5th November my mum, dad and I went to the town hall for the inauguration ceremony!
Firstly, we got escorted to the council chamber, were everyone was seated. The junior/young lord mayors were seated in alphabetical order. Once Jeff (the person who runs it) had told everyone what was going on, we all went for sandwiches and a drink.
After that, everyone went back to the chamber. Then, the lord mayor arrived and the ceremony began. One by one the names got called and suddenly it was me! It was VERY scary! You had to get up and read a piece of paper saying that you have been chosen for the role of junior lord mayor of Liverpool.
At St Teresa's we commemorated 100 years since WW1 by taking part in a themed day. Different year groups studied different areas of the war and took part in activities to produce work based on their learning.
Year 5 and 6 also took part in a special assembly which was attended by Captain David Law. Captain Law has spent time serving at home and abroad. He joined us for our assembly and our minutes silence. Captain David Law placed a poppy wreath on our school cross, followed by a representative from each year 5 and 6 class, who also placed poppies.
It was a very special day for us and we thank Captain David Law for giving up his time to share it with us.
The children enjoyed watching Spanish dancers when we celebrated European Day!!!

The children went to church on Wednesday to commemorate the feast of St Teresa. Father Chris celebrated the Mass. It was lovely for all of the children to join in on this special feast day. Children from Year 2 shared some of their art work done after their Geography trip on the ferry at the offertory. Year 5 and 6 took communion which was very moving to see so many children who have made their Holy Communion. Our Head Boy and girl said some special prayers. There were also lots of parishioners, which is great for the parish community to celebrate with the children of our school.
