World Book Day

We enjoyed dressing as our favourite characters for World Book Day.

We enjoyed lots of stories about Giants. We wandered if all Giants were nasty and fierce. We acted out the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We made the old giant a new wig, false teeth and glasses.

This half term we have enjoyed lots of stories and voted for our favourite. The winner was "the meanies come to school". Tiffinii asked "what's a storm of paper?" So we had a storm of paper and played splishy sploshy.

We are excellent at drawing and writing! We made our own story frieze and even used full stops and capital letters! We have been learning about Jack and the bean stalk. FEE FI FO FUM!

Fun to be Fit Day

We enjoyed a fun to be fit day in nursery. We started with a run 10 times around the hall. "This is very hard work" Ayden said, but we did it with a huge smile. We learnt about fruit and vegetables and made a delicious fruit salad. We thought about fun ways we could exercise. We talked about hand washing too. Our homework challenge was to go to bed early!

Aspirations Week

This week in nursery for Aspirations week, we have been talking about working hard in school so we can have an exciting job.
We have been Artists, Bankers, Storytellers, Doctors, Police Officers, Vets, Firefighters and Designers and Engineers. We enjoyed the visit from Charlie the Vet and she dressed us up and we listened to our heartbeats with the stethoscope. We asked her lots of questions about her job. We had an exciting visit from the Firefighters. We sat in their engine and squirted water.

Thankyou to all our parents, nans, grandads, aunties and uncles who joined us for our story workshop day. We shared stories and had fun making masks, sparkly pictures and building a wall for humpty dumpty. Parents commented 'A really good day. Brilliant to get the children to act out the stories with all the equipment provided', and 'A good experience to see that my daughter is able to recognise stories and nursery rhymes through pictures and toys'.

Today for anti bullying week we acted out the story of the three little pigs, but our story had a happy ending. We talked to the wolf and asked him to be kind. The wolf and pigs had a party with pizza and cake. We made sorry letters and let's be friends cards. In our nursery we are going to be good friends!

In nursery we had a 2 minute silence for all the brave soldiers who keep us safe. We helped make a very special weeping window.

This week in nursery enjoyed the story of the Fairytale Cake. The king and queen baked a cake for a very special boy. It went up the hill and down the hill past all our favourite nursery rhyme and story characters.

AUTUMN 1

We have been very busy in nursery meeting new friends and having lots of fun together. We ended with a celebration party. We had a sleepover with our teddies. They had a lovely time playing with us in the nursery.

Our Sound Journey!

Today we went on a walk around our school with our clipboards and found some sounds!

We ran through the leaves which crunched, we listened to the bin lorry which beeped and hummed, we stamped up the stairs, listed to the piano play, heard the doors squeak and bang, and finally sat in our WOW room and heard the waves of the ocean and the pitter patter of the rain!

Nursery 2014 -2015

St Georges Day

We had a wonderful St Georges day in our nursery. We built a castle, made flowers and flags and shields and swords. We fought the fire breathing dragon and rescued the princess. After all that excitement we shared a picnic!

In Nursery we had ducklings come to visit.

Well done to all of our mums, dads, nans, grandads and children for their Eggcelent Easter bonnets. The children proudly paraded in their bonnets around church and the school yard. Happy Easter!

In nursery and reception this week, we have enjoyed story workshops.
Parents came along to share hot tips for reading and worked with the
children in lots of story book themed activities.
We had such a wonderful day with lots of fabulous storytellers!
Our challenge is to read a story every night!

The nursery had a wonderful wedding celebration. As you can see the children all looked beautiful. We had brides, grooms, bridesmaids, bestmen, photographers, chauffeurs for our wedding carriage. Confetti, haribo wedding rings, signing the register and cutting the cake. We finished off with a lovely party and plenty of dancing. A lovely end to a busy half term.

We have been doing lots of lovely things in our nursery since the new year.

For aspirations we had lots of visitors including the fire fighter, florist dispenser, hairdresser, and nurse. We asked lots of questions to find out about their job. We learnt how to make a flower arrangement. We all had a cut and blow in the hairdressers, We set up a surgery, police station and fire station.
