Crucial Crew
All Year 6 took part in workshops all about keeping safe.
They learned about:
Road Safety,
Gun Crime,
Safety on the Internet,
Hate Crimes,
Safety on public transport,
Water Safety.
All year 6, both boys and girls, were invited to St. John Bosco
on Thursday 8th October to celebrate being part of Liverpool Archdiocese.
This day was really enjoyed by Year 6.
Other schools were there too and we took part in some interesting workshops including arts and craft, music and drama with some of the students
from St. John Bosco.
The day closed with a short reflection sharing what it means to be part of the Catholic Education Services in Liverpool.
Stories, stories, stories and more stories…
Katrice Horsley, who is a professional storyteller, visited our school to work with each year group and some parents too. She shared her love of stories with us by telling us lots of amazing stories.
As the National Storytelling Laureate, she visits lots of schools and we loved listening to her storytelling. Here are some quotes from our Year 6 pupils about her visit:
Georgia Taylor: Katrice Horsely was an amazing inspiration to not just me to everyone. Her quote was… “My advice is, just go out there and tell stories, you are perfect for who you are.”
Paddy Brennan: I liked your laugh and your story telling. You are so, so good! How do you think of all those stories. I also liked your language.
Georgia Sweeney: Katrice Horsely was like no other storyteller, she was such an inspiration to me and many others. She inspired me to enter the Radio 2 ‘500 Words Competition’ and without her I wouldn’t have the guts to join. Since it has recently been Aspirations Week, I think she was a BIG aspiration!
Oliver Malkin: Katrice Horsely is a amazing story teller. She tells little kid’s nursery stories and big kids like year 6 little bit of horror stories. The other week Katrice asked our Head teacher if she could have year 6 come again and she told us a horror story and it was scary. She inspired me and everyone else.
Isobel Eales: Katrice Horsely is a lovely person, my favorite quote of hers was: “Let your imagination take you anywhere you want!” She also quoted that: “Don’t tell the story, be the story!” It was a fun lesson.
