The Y6 boys played an excellent All Saints side losing 1-9, but the boys should be proud of their performance and on another day would have scored a lot more themselves. Thomas C continued his excellent form and showed great leadership qualities, winning the star performer award and special mentions to David for his tough tackling and brilliant 'rebona' and also Thomas G for his goal. well done Darron, Dylan, Mikail, David, Michael, Joel, Bradley, Thomas, Kai, Justin and Thomas G.
The girls team continued their good form with a hard fought 2-0 win in the league against Barlows. Goals were scored in the second half by Heidi and Molly but it was the defensive performances of Scarlett, birthday girl Lexie and star performer Annemaria that really caught they eye. A great team perfomance by Joleigh, Lexie, Scarlett, Annemaria, Sophie, Oliwia, Molly, Heidi and Katy.
In our school, we had a special week called ‘Aspiration Week’ where we invited visitors in, with different careers, to inspire us! They shared their life experiences and their career path with us so that when we grow up we know the options that are available to us in our careers.
Lots of people gave their time to come in and talk to us. In Year 6, we were lucky enough to listen to many visitors: a mechanical engineer, John Torley and an apprentice engineer, Robert; a lady from the CID, Rona Roberts; a sports journalist from Talk Sport, Dom McGuiness; a BBC Operations Manager, Helen; an expert in Coding, Kevin Howsen; Everton in the Community coaches. They all shared what they had to do as part of their job and gave us some advice.
We learned that we should try our best to follow our dreams and try to choose a career that we love (as it won’t seem like work then!). All of our visitors said that all our lessons in school are important and we should work as hard as we can.
At the end of the week, we (the whole school) all dressed up as the career we hope to have. In our year, Year 6, we had a range of different jobs: scientists, dance teachers, police, footballers, a make-up artist and many more. We celebrated all that we had learned during the week and it really has helped as we think about our future and how we can achieve our aspirations.
